Religious Leaders Urged to Fight Threat of Extremism

Patriarch Kiril, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, called on religious leaders to confront the threat of extremism.

In a message to the 9th round of dialogue between the Center for Dialogue Among Faiths and Civilizations and the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kiril warned that wars and extremism are growing in different parts of the world.
He urged that the spread of extremism, which has had many victims among Muslims and Christians, should be confronted.
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia also voiced concern about anti-religious propaganda in some countries and attempts to undermine ethical values,
The 9th round of dialogue between the Center for Dialogue Among Faiths and Civilizations and the Russian Orthodox Church began on Tuesday at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization in Tehran.
A number of Iranian Muslim thinkers and Christian thinkers from Russai are attending the two-day event.
The participants will discuss extremism and how to counter it, religious minorities and the need for peaceful coexistence in the world, and commemoration of martyrs in view of Islam and Christianity.
