Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem said the US, Zionist plot in Syria has failed.

Speaking to IQNA, Sheikh Qassem said Washington and Tel Aviv aimed to overthrow the Syrian government in three months with the cooperation of Takfiri extremists but have been unable to do so after three and a half years.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. The Western powers and their regional allies, especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, are reportedly supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
More than 191,000 people have been killed in over three years of foreign-backed militancy in Syria.
Sheikh Qassem further referred to the victory of Gaza resistance against Israel in the 50-day war and said preventing the Zionist regime from achieving its objectives in Gaza was the main accomplishment of the resistance movement.
Nearly two months of Israel’s devastating war on Gaza came to an end on August 26, after Tel Aviv and Palestinians agreed to a long-term ceasefire.
Some 2,139 Palestinians, mostly civilians, including women, children and the elderly, were killed in 50 days of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza. Around 11,000 others were injured.
Tel Aviv says 69 Israelis have been killed in the conflict, but Hamas puts the number at more than 150.
