138 individuals from 59 countries are expected to take part in the competition, which is slated for November 16-23.
The competition will be held in the categories of Quran recitation, memorization and interpretation, Al-Riyadh daily reported.
According to Mansour bin Muhammad al-Samih, an official with the organizing committee, those scheduled to participate in the Quranic event have been selected from among applications sent through Quranic centers and associations in different countries.
He said the competition aims to encourage Muslim youth to memorize the Holy Quran and contemplate its teachings.
