Men and women competed in two separate sections of the contest, which was organized in cooperation with the World Association of Quran Memorization, IINA reported.
There were 37 contenders from different parts of Bosnia in total.
The categories of the competition included memorization of 10 and 20 Juzes (parts) of the Quran and memorization of the entire Holy Quran.
Winners of the contest were awarded at the closing ceremony, which was attended by a number of cultural and religious personalities.
Islam has a rich and longstanding history in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was introduced to the local population in the 15th and 16th centuries as a result of the Ottoman conquest of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Today, Muslims constitute about half of the population in the Eastern European country.
