Winners of Mauritania TV Quran Contest Awarded

Winners of a TV Quran competition in Mauritania were announced and awarded in a ceremony on Monday.

Seyed Mohamed Walad al-Sheikh won the first title and received the top award, which included a cash prize of 4 million Mauritanian Ouguiya, the country’s news agency reported.
The second and third rank winners were awarded two and one million Ouguiya, respectively.
The Siyaq al-Quran TV Quran competition was held earlier this year by Mauritania Scholars Society under the supervision of the Islamic Affairs Ministry.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa where Islam is the state religion.
Almost all people in Mauritania are Muslims.
