6 Iranian Students Compete to Qualify for Int’l Quran Contest for Muslim Students

Six students from different Iranian universities will attend a qualifying competition today, November 19, to represent Iran in the 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students.

Ali Reza Feizi, Hassan Zarnousheh Farahani, and Mohammad Javad Mohammadi Majd will contend in the category of memorization, while Mojtaba Mohammadbeigi, Ali Ghassemabadi and Vahid Khazani vie for qualification in the recitation category, Fars news agency reported.
One of them in each category will get to represent Iran in the international contest.
The Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization will host the qualification competition.
The fifth edition of the International Holy Quran Competition for Muslims Students is scheduled to be held in January 2015 in Tehran.
The Iranian cities of Isfahan, Tehran, Mashhad and Tabriz hosted the previous four editions of the international competition, which is aimed at enhancing Islamic unity, paving the way for promotion of Quranic teachings and culture and providing a venue for interactions among Muslim world students.
