The ceremony was held at Masjid al-Haram in the holy city of Makkah, Iqra website reported.
In the first category, memorization of the entire Quran along with Tajweed and interpretation, the Saudi representative came first, followed by contenders from Mauritania and Chad.
Winners of the first rank in the other three categories were from Qatar, Libya, and South Africa, respectively.
This edition of the international Quranic event was held at Masjid al-Haram from Saturday, November 15, until Tuesday, November 18.
138 Quran memorizers from 59 countries took part in the Quran competition this year.
