Ayatollah Mar’ashi Najafi Commemorated

-- A ceremony was held Thursday in the holy city of Qom to commemorate the late Shia source of emulation Ayatollah Mar’ashi Najafi.
It marked the 20th anniversary of the demise of the great Shia scholar.
Head of supreme leader’s representative office in Qom, the city’s officials, representatives of sources of emulation, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Javad Fazel Lankarani, Ayatollah Gerami and a great number of people attended the function at Ayatollah Mar’ashi Hussainia (religious center).
Speaking at the event, Hojat-ol-Islam Fateminia referred to Ayatollah Mar’ashi Najafi’s character and virtues and said, “Everything he did, including the unique library he founded, was for the love of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
“The late source of emulation had full mastery over jurisprudential sciences including Rijal, Diraya, and history of Hadith,” Hojat-ol-Islam Fateminia said.
He also noted that great scholars and scientific figures like Grand Ayatollah Bahjat and Allameh Tabataba’i were among Ayatollah Mar’ashi Najafi’s students.
