Qatar Islamic Culture Central Enters Guinness Records for Gilding

-- Fanar (Qatar Islamic Culture Central) and the art of Gilding have entered into the Guinness Book of World Records through the biggest gilding painting in the world.
In the middle of the painting the word 'Mus'haf Qatar' is written to celebrate the launching of 'Mus'haf Qatar' and 'Aqlam Expo'.

According to the standard specifications for the Guinness World Record, the painting size had to be 6 metres and the coverage of gold paper 55 percent. The creative artists, the Choctan brothers, used more than 2,500 gold papers, including three types of gold "white, red and yellow."

Preparing this painting took 15 days and the work was completed in 40 hours.

The event is considered by Fanar to put the Islamic Arts on the global stage and to let people know about the Islamic way of life. This World Record supports the presentation of Islam through different Islamic arts.
