-- A full commitment for a just and inclusive peace in the Middle East and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem being its capital were the main points stressed on in the final communique of the executive committee for PUIC in Istanbul on Monday.
The meeting concluded its extraordinary meeting on Monday.
The occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem are "inseparable," final statement of the meeting of PUIC (Parliamentary Union of the OIC-member states) said.
It also stressed that Jerusalem is the core issue of the Palestinian cause and essence of the Arab-Islamic conflict with the Zionist regime.
Voicing support for all previous PUIC resolutions in this regard, the statement also recalled UNSC resolutions related to status of Jerusalem, underlining the holy city's vital significance to the Muslim World and necessity to preserve its multi-cultural identity.
It also voiced "deep" concern over continuous Israeli violations to Muslim and Christian holy places in Jerusalem, including excavations under and in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Urging Palestinian factions to end the state of division among them, the statement said national dialogue and legitimate resistance are keys to secure unity and regain rights of the Palestinian people.
