Islamic Relief Worldwide Delegation Visits Gaza

--A delegation representing Islamic Relief Worldwide arrived in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday to watch firsthand the situation in the blockaded coastal enclave.

The delegation included the head of the funding department, head of Islamic Relief Germany, representative of the US office in addition to renowned Egyptian actors Hanan Turk and Tariq Dusouqi.
Turk and Dusouqi are known for their active role meeting with needy people around the world. They travel to Europe and the US to recruit support and fundraise for needy communities. Islamic Relief Worldwide which has been active in this field for several years.
The delegation visited Ash-Shifa medical center in Gaza City and the Islamic Relief-affiliated Psychological Support Center. They also met with orphans and blind people amongst other people with special needs. Visits were paid to poor families and families whose homes were destroyed during Israeli offensive Operation Cast Lead.
Turk sang before children while Dusouqi recited a poem urging children to be optimistic and to counter challenges no matter how difficult they were. Turk said she has been trying to visit Gaza for three years to meet with needy people and deliver their message to the people of the US to help her fundraise for their cause.
