In a press conference in Tehran on Monday, Baghaei emphasized that the United States is responsible for the escalation and expansion of war in West Asia.
Baghaei said that "the American aggression targeted civilian infrastructure, and this confirms the aggression and criminality of the United States."
Responding to a question from IQNA about the latest legal and international follow-ups regarding seeking justice for martyred Leader of teh Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, he said: “The crime committed against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in the martyrdom of the Leader and a number of the country’s political and military officials, was an unprecedented act. Pursuing legal action over this crime and demanding the implementation of justice is considered a national matter."
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to take the necessary measures in the areas of documentation, utilizing all available mechanisms, competent international institutions and forums, as well as every existing legal avenue, to ensure that this crime is pursued through all possible channels.” The top diplomat added.
He also condemned "the barbaric American aggression on medical facilities and health centers", adding that "the United States is attacking infrastructure to destabilize our security, and it will never succeed in this".
He stressed that "the United States is taking the region toward an all-out war".
Regarding the nuclear talks, Baghaei said that "no Iranian negotiator has been deceived; rather, talks are a mechanism for pressure, and we have never made concessions in them".
He added that "the Iranian negotiation team will not leave the arena, just as those who launch missiles in the armed forces do not leave their positions."
Baghaei also stated that "any talks with America must take national interests into account," and confirmed that "mediators have conveyed messages to Tehran over the past few days."
Baghaei also addressed legal measures, saying that "Iran will work to hold the United States legally accountable for its ongoing crimes against civilians".
Commenting on recent diplomatic activity, Baghaei confirmed that "there is currently activity by mediators and some ideas have been proposed that we are working on," in response to a question about Foreign Minister Sayyed Abbas Araghchi's visit to Doha.
The spokesperson said that "the United States did not comply with the memorandum of understanding, and our goal is to safeguard Iran and protect its sovereignty," holding the US responsible for the expansion of the scope of the war.
Addressing the Strait of Hormuz situation, Baghaei said that "the future of the Strait of Hormuz must be coordinated with the Sultanate of Oman," and that "Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is not open to any debate, and we are determined on that."
Baghaei also congratulated Spain on its World Cup victory, stating that "we congratulate Spain on its World Cup win," while also noting that "we have always rejected the Israeli genocide war and we have no position toward the Argentine people."
