1st Olympiad of Quran Sciences University to Begin Tomorrow

-- The first Quran Olympiad for students, teachers and staff of the university of Quran Sciences and Teachings will begin from tomorrow, April 26.
Mahdi Qobadi, head of the public relations office of the university told IQNA that the olympiad will begin in Meybod with Quran recitation by Danesh, top Quran reciter of Yazd province and will continue until April 28.
“Over 200 participants from among top Quran activists of the university will compete in Tahqeeq and Tarteel recitation of the holy Quran, memorization of 5, 10, 20 and 30 parts of the Quran, thematic memorization, translation and interpretation of the Quran,” he said.
According to the director, a Quranic session will also be held on the sidelines of the Olympiad with the presence of Ali Asqar Sho’ayi, internationally known Quran reciter of the country and director of Quran center of the university.
He noted that the written stage of the contest was held on April 18 where the participants selected from various faculties of Quranic sciences competed in 11 categories.
The University of Quran Sciences and Teachings is working under the supervision of the Organization of Endowments and Charity Affairs with over 14 branches all over the country hosting students at BA and MA levels of education.
