Talking to IQNA, Mahmoud Abbasi, head of the center stated that: “we are investigating the views of religious jurisprudents and intellectuals concerning medical issues and plan to hold the congress with a large participation of religious scholars.”
He noted that genetics and the related legal issues will be one of the main themes of the program stating that: “as a deep ocean, genetics has created new challenges to the world which should be taken into consideration from various aspects, particularly from jurisprudential perspective”.
He added that legal supports for genetic supplies, genetic engineering and its legal challenges will be among the issues to be discussed at the program to be held by the Scientific Association of the university.
Faculty of Laws, Medicine, Ministry of Sciences, Health Ministry, Union of Scientific Associations of Iran Laws Group, the International Organization of Medical Laws, National Research Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, International Association of Islamic Bio-ethics, Committee of Ethics in Sciences and Technology in ISESCO Commission, Center of Medical Laws in France, Research Center of Medical Ethics and Laws in Switzerland, Research Center of Islamic Sciences and Culture of the Islamic Disseminations Office, Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Jurisprudential Center, Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Iran’s General Inspection Organization and some other institutions will cooperate in organizing the congress.
It will be chaired by Hassan Abulghasemi, president of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.Mahmoud Abbasi, head of the research center has been selected as the scientific secretary of the program.
