Muhammad Al-Darieni, one of the party’s founding members, stressed that it will help Muslim Brotherhood's nominee, Khairat el-Shater, in the presidential polls, Al-Yawm As-Sabi daily reported.
He said the decision to back el-Shater’s candidacy was made because he, as well as Muslim Brotherhood, has taken up a serious fight against corrupt elements, murderers, spies and thieves.
"Al-Qadir party’s support for el-Shater is based on religious, ethical and national grounds".
Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood this week announced the nomination of the group's deputy chairman, Khairat al-Shater, as its candidate for the presidential polls scheduled to be held in May.
Due to his struggles against the former dictator Hosni Mubarak’s regime, Khairat el-Shater spent some years in regime’s prisons.
