It is organized by the president’s juridical deputy and the university’s Office of Human Rights, Peace and Democracy in cooperation with the Center for Coordination, Development and Promotion of Iranian Students’ Quranic Activities and the universities of Shahid Beheshti, Baqer-ul-Olum (AS), Razavi Islamic Sciences as well as Al-Mustafa International University.
Also cooperating in administering the congress are Martyr Motahari High School, Culture and Islamic Relations Organization, Iran’s National Library and Archives Organization, Baqer-ul-Olum (AS) Research Center, World Assembly for Religious Sects Proximity, Research Center for Quranic Miracles, and the Center for Public Rights Studies in Tehran University.
The congress will feature two main subjects, namely “Fundamental Rights and Freedoms in the Holy Quran” and “The State and Governing in the Holy Quran” and is supposed to be attended by a number of scholars from different Islamic countries.
The first subject includes topics like man’s dignity in the Quran, rights and responsibilities in the Quran, freedom of thought and speech in the Quran, freedom of parties and assemblies in the Quran, the right for choosing and determining one’s destiny in the Quran, as well as criticizing rulers in the Quran based on the notion of promotion of virtue and prevention of vice.
Other topics to be discussed in this category are privacy in the Quran, rights of minorities in the Quran, women’s rights in the Quran, right for individual security in the Quran, right for economic freedom and ownership in the Quran, right for social security in the Quran, as well as human rights and humanitarian rights in the Quran.
“The State and Governing in the Holy Quran” is the second subject to be discussed at the congress, including topics like legibility of the State in the Quran, rulers’ qualifications in the Quran, ways of governing in the Quran, rights and responsibilities of the State in the Quran, response and commitment in the Quran, ruling of the law in the Quran, as well as the role of the Holy Book in devising rules and regulations.
