Ever since, political and social activists have made a lot of efforts to alleviate the health-related problems humanity is facing.
One of requirements for advancing health-improvement objectives in the world is training physicians and medical experts to work for uprooting diseases in poor regions of the world like Africa and Latin America. While a lot has been done to fulfill these requirements, new challenges show up in reaching the goals.
Numerous crises including wars, psychological health problems, etc have caused trouble in the world, many of which stem from lack of spiritual health and inattention to this essential issue.
One of the key factors threatening the spiritual health of people in the world is false mystical cults and humanistic lines of thought. They have harmful effects, along with superstition and lavishness, and can give rise to new psychological diseases. Those infected with these diseases are people who are unable to think properly and decide accordingly. The ensuing thought vacuum is a menace to beliefs and human values, and that requires the importance of spiritual health and the role of religious scholars to present solutions for health problems and elevating spirituality.
Superstitions and superstitious cults as well as false mystical and humanistic currents have brought about catastrophes and crises like the atrocities against Muslims in the Balkans and desecration of Muslim sanctities in Afghanistan and Iraq. In the West, lack of attention to spirituality has caused an spread of depression and mental health problems.
What spiritual health seeks is reviving values and parenting the spread of superstition and false mysticism that threaten society’s health not only in the West, but also in Eastern societies.
