Syrian People Vigorously Oppose Foreign Interference

People of Syria on Saturday, April 7, held rallies in various cities across the country to voice their strong opposition to foreign intervention in their country’s affairs.
The demonstrators also stressed their support for President Bashar Al-Assad’s government and reforms introduced by the government.
In the capital Damascus people marched to the Assaba Baharat Square to reiterate the need for maintaining national unity.
Meanwhile, an international monitoring team started talks with Syrian officials on Saturday about sending 250 UN observers to the country.
They will go to Syria to monitor implementation of the Kofi Annan initiative for ending the country’s unrest.
Syria’s government in two separate letters to the United Nation and the Security Council has said armed groups backed by certain Western and Arab countries have intensified their operations even after Damascus accepted Kofi Annan’s initiative.
