Talking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Abbas Husseini, the secretary of the event, said: “As the two sources of guidance and salvation, religion and Ethics have always been highlighted in human society and life as the major themes of intellectual and philosophical discussions.”
He said that the meeting is arranged with the aim of undertaking more researches as to evaluation of sources, materials and potentials of religions in ethical issues.
It will be organized by Ma’arej Research Center of Divine Sciences affiliated to Israa International Foundation of Divine Sciences.
“Cognitive principles of ethics”, “Ethics in Islam”, “Ethics in Judaism and Christianity”, “Ethics in oriental traditions” and “Religions and ethical issues” are the main five themes of the forum.
Religion and ethics, rationality and religious ethics, status of emotion in religious ethics, evaluation of ethical schools from a religious point of view and secular intellectuals’ reviews of religious ethics are the sub-themes of the first subject.
The second theme focus on issues including ethical approaches, sources of ethics in Islam, symbols of ethics, ethical system of Islam, Islamic ethics, laws and jurisprudence, the role of ethics in Islamic history and civilization and the role of Islamic ethics in evolution of ethical thought.
The sub-categories of the third theme are schools of ethics, sources of ethic in Judaism and Christianity and the ethical systems in Judaism and Christianity.
Ethical systems in oriental traditions, ethical approaches of Buddhists, ways to reach salvation in Buddhism and Hinduism and sources of ethics in the two religions are the sub-category of the fourth subject.
Ethics in medicine, media, politics, family, etc are scheduled to be addressed as part of the program as well.
The deadline for sending the abstracts and papers to the secretariat of the conference has been set for June 19th.
