Talking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ghasem Nasirpour, head of the Office of History and Islamic Teachings Studies in Dar-ol-Quran Center, referred to the Supreme Leader’s this year slogan of “National Production, Support for Iranian Capital and Labor”, calling for devising new plans to promote the quantitative and qualitative level of Iran’s print industry and resolve the existing problems through supporting national publishers.
Urging the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to pay further heed to Quran publication, he said: “A pressing problem in the sphere concerns the lack of observing the copyright laws.”
“We need to pay more serious attention to Quranic and cultural activities of corresponding organizations, as the violation of copyright regulations would mean devaluing the time and money that the publishers have devoted to the job.”
He further criticized the illegal publication or import of Quran copies by some governmental organizations, adding that “Such institutions are more responsible for supervising the Quranic affairs rather than acting as publishers.”
Highlighting the role of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in resolving such matters, he stressed: “If the ministry and other corresponding institutions consider it their duty to tackle such problems, publishers’ concerns will be addressed to a great extent and significant improvement will be achieved in the country’s publication industry.”
