Seminar to Discuss Int’l Quran Contests

A seminar on reviewing international Quran competitions is planned to be held in the UAE.
The two-day event is organized by the Dubai International Holy Quran Award Committee on May 7-8, Al-Bayan daily reported.
According to the paper, it is aimed at improving coordination among organizers of international Quran competitions.
Chairman of the committee Ibrahim Bu Malha in a press conference on Monday said the World Holy Quran Memorization Society will cooperate in holding the seminar.
He said the seminar will review the organization of international Quran competitions in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia as well as the Dubai Quran Award.
“It will also discuss the role of the media and technology in arranging Quran contests.”
Bu Malha noted that the previous edition of the seminar, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, called for more cooperation between Quranic centers around the world.
