IQNA Selected as Information Dissemination Committee of a Quran Plan
In a meeting held on April 11 on coordinating Quran activities in Iran, ISQA and IQNA were singled out as the Student Committee and Information Dissemination Committee of a Quranic plan, respectively.
Iranian University Students Quranic Activities Organization (ISQA) and International Quran News Agency (IQNA) will execute “Thousand Khatm-e Quran” (Reading the entire Quran for thousand times) Quranic plan to make sure that all objectives of the plan will be implemented properly.
The plan will be carried out on Mid of Sha’ban (14th day of the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar which marks the birth anniversary of Imam Zaman (God may hasten his glad advent) with the purpose of praying for his quick reappearance and well-being.
Last year the plan was carried out by the Quran Radio.
The meeting was attended by a number Quran activists, experts,masters and officials from across the country.
Habibollah Torkashvand, IQNA’s deputy, also was present at the event and voiced the agency’s readiness for implementing the plan, adding that: “IQNA with getting help from the Supreme Leader's Representative Offices in Universities, Student Basij Organization, and Quran and Etrat Centers, would make all-out effort in order to execute the plan optimally”.
He said that IQNA as the first specialized Quran news agency in the world covering news in 40 languages will disseminate information regarding the registration of the plan in 40 languages.
