“Muslims and Democracy” Forum Underway in Nigeria

A forum on “Muslims and Democracy” kicked off today, April 14, in Abuja, capital city of the Republic of Nigeria.
According to IQNA’s branch in Africa, the conference hall of the grand Mosque of the city hosts the two-day program.
It has been organized by the Coalition of Islamic Associations in Nigeria.
Isaa Vaziri Juanto, the speaker of the organizing committee of the forum said: “It is for the first time in the country's history, from the day of its independence and establishment of democracy in this country, that such a forum is being held in the Republic.”
He said that the program aims to investigate Muslims’ rights and duties, today’s challenges and the development of democracy in Nigeria.
