Saudi Arabia to Hold Int’l Conference on Quran Researches

An international conference on “Promotion of Quranic Researches” is slated to be held in late February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to Al Sharq newspaper, it is organized by King Saud University in cooperation with Tafseer Quran Research Center.
Abd-ol-Rahman Al-Shahri, supervisor of the conference said in a statement that interpretation, recitation, Tajweed, and contemporary Quranic studies will form the major themes of the event.
He said that executive and organizational measures as to Quran researches, improving coordination among Quran centers and media outlets, and making use of modern technology in such researches for serving Quran will be discussed at the conference as well.
Asked about the main objective for arranging such an event, Al-Shahri said that the conference will be convened pursuing the aim of fostering the culture of Waqf (Islamic donation) across the country.
He concluded that a number of specialized forums as well as exhibitions concerning innovation in the field of Quranic researches will be held as sideline programs of the event.
