The festival, which will continue until June, will also feature a specialized Halal food expo, a cooking competition and a seminar titled ‘Developing Halal Industry in China’, Al-Yawm As-Sabi daily reported.
It will be held in an area of 20,000 square meters, which is believed to be capable of hosting 80,000 victors every day.
The organizers expect over 200,000 visitors from different Chinese cities.
Urumqi is known as the ‘city of Halal food in China’, because it has a long history of activity in production of Halal food.
