Final Stage of Basij Nat'l Quran Contest to Be Held

The final stage of the 21st national Quran contest for Basij members will be held on May 1.
Talking to IQNA, Hassan Askari, head of Dar-ol-Quran of Basij (volunteer forces) said that the competition will be held for three days at the premises of Basij Organization with participation of some 200 individuals.
About 200 participants will compete on seven categories including recitation of the Holy Quran, Quranic concepts, memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of 5, 10 and 20 Juzes (parts) and the 30th Juz.
This edition of the contest is arranged for men and the contest for women will be organized next year, he added.
He further noted that the closing ceremony of the contest will be held on May 3 from 9:30 am, local time.
The program will be addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Kazem Sediqi, interim Friday Prayers leader in Tehran and Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, commander of Iran’s Basij forces.
