Forum in Cairo Discusses Role of Imams of Mosques
A forum on the role of imams of mosques in unity of Islamic Ummah is underway in Egypt.
It has been underway since April 22 at the Conference Hall of Al-Azhar Islamic Center in Cairo.
According to Al-Yawm Al-Sabe newspaper, the program is the first annual forum planned by Association of Imams of Mosques and Preachers in Egypt supervised by Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
Promotion of imams’ knowledge and preachers’ activities have been announced as the main objectives of the forum.
Hopeful candidates for Egypt presidential election, Al-Azhar scholars, university lecturers, political figures and security officials are attending the event.
The association has regarded the forum as an ideal opportunity for strengthening unity among Egyptians and boosting cooperation among various political parties in this country.
The two-day forum will conclude today, April 23.
