Addressing the Friday prayer worshipers before the sermons on April 27, Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini referred to this year’s slogan of “National Production, Support for Iranian Capital and Labor”, adding: “All the cultural and artistic organizations and institutes including the press and the media are required to cooperate in the materialization of the slogan in the best possible way.”
“The press and media officials have already discussed the issue in a number of meetings, making plans to provide the youth with the cultural productions that are made based on Islamic and Iranian culture,” he went on to say.
He also referred to the 25th International Book Fair which is about to open in Tehran, noting that “this edition will be staged with the slogan of “A Quarter-century of Cultural Jihad” and is expected to be attended by 4200 domestic and international publishers.”
“400,000 books including over 60,000 ones with religious themes will be showcased at this year’s exhibit,” he pointed out, noting that “this edition is expected to be held in a more religious and spiritual atmosphere through organizing specific cultural-artistic programs, devoting special pavilions to Imam Ali (AS) and Imam Reza (AS), and celebrating the birth anniversary of Hazrat-e Fatemeh (SA).”
“Also, the halls of the exhibition will be named after martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, Holy Defense, nuclear energy, etc. to commemorate the great events, and special forums will be held with the participation of religious scholars and clerics from Qom Seminary.”
Hosseini further warned the publishers about presenting their works under pseudonyms.
He went on to say that representatives from different countries would attend the fair, adding: “This would be an effective cultural strategy to dispel western enmities and devise a new system for the countries recently involved in revolution.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hosseini referred to the ministry’s religious and Quranic programs such as setting up a collective fund for the promotion of Quranic culture and increasing the number of cultural-artistic centers in mosques to over 13000.
Pointing to the meeting of the information ministers from 57 Islamic countries which was held in Tehran last week, he said that the participants agreed to recognize the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Quds Day and organize this year’s rally more vigorously.
