Managing director of the Center for Development of Documentary and Experimental Cinema (CDDEC) said there are plans for making a great movie based on a Quranic story or concept.
Shafi Aghamohammadian told IQNA that the movie will be made with the participation of foreign investors to make it easier for presenting it in international markets.
Pointing to the activities of the CDDEC in the past Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19), he said four movies made by the center were nominated for the Chrystal Simorgh at 30th Fajr International Film Festival.
“Named ‘Greeting to Angels’, ‘Receiver’, ‘Weekend Thursday’, and ‘Philadelphi’, the four movies features religious themes,” he noted.
Aghamohammadian underlined that the CDDEC attached considerable importance to production of Quranic and religious films in the past year of 1390 (March 2011-March 2012).
Asked about the center’s activities in line with the previous year’s slogan of ‘Economic Jihad’, he said, “we invited filmmakers to produce documentaries on the theme of economic Jihad and supported making such films.”
