Indonesian Author to Clarify the Status of Islam in Uzbekistan

An Indonesian author is writing a book on the status of Islam in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Introducing his book at a meeting on April 27 with Sheikh Mohammad Sadeq Mohammad Yusuf, Mufti and former head of the Office for Muslims’ Affairs in the Middle East and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ja’far Seddiq, said that the historical-religious book focuses on eminent scholars and religious intellectuals of the country as well.
In his book, Ja’far Seddiq will explain the history of Uzbekistan and introduces eminent scholars and intellectuals of the country, their role and status in dissemination of Islam, Uzbekistan’s achievements after its independence and historical, tourist and holy places of the country.
The book is expected to deal mainly with the role and status of religious scholars and intellectuals of Uzbekistan in the development and dissemination of Islam in Indonesia.
The last chapter of the book is to be written in cooperation with the Mufti of Uzbekistan.
The author also asked the Mufti to write an introduction for his book.
It will be published in Indonesian language.
