Acquaintance with Quran Cures Materialism Disease in Society
The Holy Quran is an everlasting guide for humanity that should flow in people’s lives, a grand source of emulation said.
Speaking in a meeting with Commander of the Basij Force Mohammad Reza Naghdi, grand Ayatollah Sobhani added that people’s acquaintance with the Quran can cure the illness of materialism that isolates them from true values.
He further pointed to the responsibilities of Islamic government, saying that it should help to acquaint the society with God and religious values and spread the monotheistic culture among people.
“Upholding prayers, feeding those in need, and reviving the (principle of) Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice are among the main duties of Islamic government.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, the grand Ayatollah referred to the 1979 Islamic Revolution as a great blessing, stressing that everyone is duty-bound to protect this blessing and safeguard the Islamic and revolutionary ideals by sticking to religious values.
