Permissions were issued in the Persian calendar month of Azar (November-December) for printing 113000 copies of the Holy Quran, a Dar-ol-Quran Karim official said.
Speaking to IQNA, Ahmad Haji-Sharif, the organization’s education and research deputy, added that in Aban (the month before), permissions had been granted for printing 117000 Quran copies.
He noted that the education and research deputy of the Dar-ol-Quran Karim Organization makes sure that the original Arabic text of the printed Quran copies has no problems.
According to Haji-Sharif, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance is responsible to oversee the accuracy of the translations of the Quran.
Asked about assessing the translations of the Quran available in the market, he said the culture ministry should answer the question.
The official also said that the price of paper used for printing is still high. He had said in a previous interview that the high prices of paper could lead to a decrease in the number of Quran copies printed din the country.
