Ayatollah Tehrani’s Demise, A Great Loss: Imam Khamenei

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei on Wednesday expressed condolences on the departure of Grand Ayatollah Agha Mojtaba Tehrani.
In a message, Imam Khamenei regarded the passing away of the distinguished religious figure as a great loss for the seminaries, the clergy and the religious community in Tehran, as well as his devotees, his students, and those who benefited from his knowledge.
“With deep sorrow and grief, I have been informed of the demise of the distinguished religious figure, the late Ayatollah Haj Agha Mojtaba Tehrani, may God grant his soul eternal peace,” read the Supreme Leader’s message.
Imam Khamenei expressed condolences to the honorable family of the late Ayatollah Tehrani, especially his brother, wife and sons.
“I ask Allah, the Exalted, to bestow mercy and blessings on the soul of that great man,” the Supreme Leader’s message further read.
Grand Ayatollah Agha Mojtaba Tehrani passed away Tuesday night, January 1, in Tehran.
He was an outstanding student of Imam Khomeini (RA) in Fiqh (jurisprudence), philosophy, ethics, and Irfan (mysticism).
