Founding College of Medicine & Religion on Agenda

Deputy of Qom University of Medical Sciences said the university plans to establish a college of medicine and religion.
Ali Reza Kuhpayi told IQNA that the college will offer majors in Fiqh (jurisprudence) of medicine, Quran and health, and medical ethics.
He added that the topics and courses are being selected for the majors and that the college will admit students at MA and PhD levels.
It will cooperate with 30 academic centers in the fields of humanities and Islamic sciences and work on issues related to medicine and religion, he said.
Kuhpayi predicted that the college will offer its first major in the next academic year, beginning in October.
He went on to say that Qom University of Medical Sciences has carried out several programs in the field of Quranic research and medicine.
The programs included holding national congresses, conducting research projects and organizing training conferences, the official went on to say.
