Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi made the remark in a meeting of Culture Ministry officials with members of the Quran and Etrat Fraction of the Majlis.
He said in the near future 1 million copies of the Quran published in the Islamic Republic of Iran will be sent abroad and that around 1 million people will receive Quranic training in different parts of the world.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi noted that during the term of the 10th administration (since 2009), over 2000 Quranic institutes were given permission by the Culture Ministry, which has been unprecedented.
“So far, as many as 20000 Quran teachers have been trained in the country,” he said, adding “we are determined to train 10 million memorizers of the Quran in the country by the year 2025”.
During the meeting, which was held on Monday, head of the Quran and Etrat Fraction of the Majlis Laleh Eftekhari lauded the effective measures taken by the Culture Ministry to promote the Quranic culture in society, stressing that attention to the Quran and Quranic teaching should be institutionalized in the ministry.
She also underlined the need for paying attention to the strategies for development of Quranic activities approved by the Supreme Cultural Revolution Council.
