The representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq announced on Sunday his agreement with religious Marjaa , Ali al-Sistani to contain the current crisis by dialogue among the political parties and move away from sectarian statements.
Martin Kobler said in a press conference held after a meeting with al-Sistani in Najaf attended by "Shafaq News", that "I delivered the religious Marjaa in Iraq a message to take its role in solving the country's problems."
"Our message includes moderation, flexibility, peace and dialogue and solving the country's problems through dialogue," noting that "what encouraged us to come to Najaf is the recent statement issued by Sistani, released by his representative in Karbala."
He stressed that “he agreed with al-Sistani on the two points to resolve the crisis in the country by dialogue away from sectarian approach in political discourse."
