Mohammad Mahmoudikia told IQNA that the submitted papers are by members of academic boards (20 percent), PhD students (20 percent), M.A. students (30 percent) and B.A. students and seminary researchers (30 percent).
He added that the deadline for submitting papers has passed, noting that during the two-month period before the deadline, a large number of papers were sent to the festival.
Mahmoudikia noted that the scientific committee of the festival held a meeting on January 10 to consider the papers.
From among the submitted papers, 15 were deemed appropriate for specialized assessment to be published in the journal of Quran and Hadith Sciences Society and 20 others for specialized assessment to be published in Interdisciplinary Quranic Studies journal, he stated.
According to Mahmoudikia, those submitting papers are from a wide range of universities and academic centers from across the country, including universities affiliated to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Health Ministry and Islamic Azad University.
There have also been papers submitted from universities in Lebanon and the US, he added.
The 4th Quranic Studies Festival of Students is planned to be held in early March in Tehran.
