A parliamentary delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran visited Myanmar on Sunday to investigate the situation of Muslims in the Southeast Asian country.
The delegation comprises a number of members of the Majlis’ National Security and Foreign Policy Commission headed by Mansour Haghighatpoor.
He had told IQNA prior to the visit that the delegation was ready to take aid to Muslims in Myanmar.
He said representatives from Imam Khomeini Charity Foundation and Iranian Red Crescent Society are also accompanying the delegation to find ways for helping the region’s Muslims.
Myanmar was the scene of attacks by Buddhist against the country’s Muslim minority last year, leading led to massacres against Muslims.
