OIC Condemns Lieberman’s Entry into Ibrahimi Mosque
Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a strong condemnation of Avigdor Lieberman’s forceful entry into, and desecration of, the Holy Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron.
The forceful entry was in the company of Israeli military personnel, in a wanton provocative step that forms an aggression against the Islamic sanctuaries.
Ihsanoglu put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Israeli forces for any repercussions that may result from such aggressions against the Islamic sanctities, and called upon the international community to react promptly for an immediate end to these serious Israeli violations which serve only to feed violence and tension in the region.
