The Al-e Khalifa regime in Bahrain has sought to instigate tribalism in the country since the start of the country’s revolution.
Bahrain’s top Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Ghassem made the remark in his Friday prayer sermon yesterday, adding that the policy of the ruling regime has been spreading tribal discord and divisions since the uprising began in the country in late 2011.
He said the regime has made use of every means possible to reach its ominous goal, including threats and spreading spitefulness.
The senior cleric praised opponents of the regime for remaining vigilant and taking a proper stance in the face of the regime’s attempts.
“The opposition parties have acted vigilantly and have not responded to the regime’s provocative measures.”
He prayed that God save all Muslim communities from discord and called on the nation of Bahrain to take a united stance based on Promotion of Virtue and implementing reforms.
