“Ethics in Teaching” International Congress to Be held in Tehran

An international congress titled “Ethics in Teaching” will be held on February 23 at the University of Medical Sciences in Tehran.
It will be organized by Medical Ethics and History of Medicine Research Center and Tehran University of Medical Sciences in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and UNESCO.
It is aimed at examining and solving medical ethics problems and reaching common perspectives in this field. Through this congress, which will be attended by prominent Iranian and foreign scholars, different issues in Ethics Education will be discussed from religious and legal perspectives.
The program is also an effort to find guidelines for compiling medical ethics principles, policymaking, and preparing manuals as well as implementation of medical ethics practical in different sections and improving medical ethics training
The themes of the congress will include: “position of ethics in teaching: definitions & theories”, “ethical definitions in teaching planning and textbooks”, “assessment of quantitative and qualitative indicators of ethics in educational policy”, “ethics in teaching: challenges”, “ethics in virtual teaching”, “principles of applied and professional ethics”, “effects of Divine lessons in ethics in education” and “observing personal and public privacy in applied and professional ethics”.
The participants will also discuss “ethics in publication”, “ethics in equalizing educational opportunities for special groups”, “role of ethics education in peace and sustainable development”, “role of ethics education in respecting cultural diversity”, “teaching practices: ethical challenges”, “ethical issues related to students”, “ethical issues related to teachers” and “ethics in learning environment”.
“Role of ethics in teachers-students relationships”, “ethical issues of common and new methods of teaching” and “ethical role modeling in teaching” will be among other themes of the program.
From among the papers submitted to the international event, 83 have been selected to be presented at the program.
