Hojat-ol-Islam Shams, head of the Supreme Committee for Promoting Prayers in Universities, made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that university students seek the truth but if they are not familiarized with pure teachings and receive incorrect information, they may go astray in their pursuit of the truth.
“With the pure Islamic teachings that we have, we should not allow the country’s youth to be deceived by absurd and baseless ideas,” he underlined.
Quoting Imam Hassan Askari (AS) as saying that the most Zahed (pious) person is one who avoids sins and the best Abed (worshiper) is one who worships Allah, Hojat-ol-Islam Shams said anyone who follows this saying by the Imam (AS) will certainly reach Irfan (mysticism).
“Anyone who gets acquainted with the teachings of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is led to the path of Islamic Irfan.”
He pointed to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei about the need for being vigilant against false mysticisms in universities, and said university students should found their understanding of God and the world of existence based on reliable information that comes from the teachings of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
