Ayatollah Mohsen Heydari, representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts, said that if the elites in the Muslim world take a proper stance against these currents, it will be helpful for neutralizing them.
He pointed to the establishment of the Unity Week by the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (RA), saying that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei has also followed the same path and, thank God, the Islamic Republic of Iran is now known as the harbinger of unity in the Muslim world.
The interim Friday prayer leader of Ahwaz said the Islamic Awakening in the region is one of the blessings of unity, adding that the victories in Lebanon and Palestine were the results of unity.
“If the idea of unity is fully implemented, all or most of the problems in the Muslim world will be resolved.”
He said the enemies of Islam such as the United States and Israel as well as their mercenaries in the region seek to prevent the realization of Islamic unity.
Ayatollah Heydari noted that Salafists and Wahabists are also among those who hamper the move toward unity in the Muslim world.
He hoped that just as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei’s Fatwa against insulting Sunni sanctities was a great step on the path of unity, Sunni Muftis, especially those in Al-Azhar, will also take a more decisive stance against Salafists and Takfiris (those considering their fellow Muslims as infidels).
He went on to say that given the enemies’ military, political and cultural onslaughts, it is necessary for the Muslim Ummah to strengthen unity and fraternity.
