National stage of a contest on Tawasheeh (choral religious singing) and congregational eulogies lauding the Holy Prophet (PBUH) will be held today, January 27, in Makhachkala city of the Republic of Dagestan.
According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, University of Theology and International Relations of the republic will host the competition to be held by the Office for Muslims’ Religious Affairs of the country.
An official with the office said that the contest has been planned to commemorate birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and to promote religious solidarity in the society.
Different Tawasheeh groups will compete with each other in the presence of a number of scholars, intellectuals, political figures, university lecturers and students as well as religious experts of the country.
The competition will be supervised by a board of judges comprised of experts in Islamic arts.
The official stated that the national event will be aired live via Makhachkala TV Channel and Watan Radio Channel.
