Critical Status of Islamic Unity Discussed in Sierra Leone

The critical status of unity among the Islamic Ummah and barriers to the unity were investigated at a forum held on January 26 in Sierra Leone.
According to IQNA’s ICRO branch, the program was organized on the occasion of the Unity Week and the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Ja’far Sadeq (AS), the sixth infallible Imam.
Conference Hall of Rasul A’zam (PBUH) Institute in Kenema city in southern part of the country hosted the forum, which was jointly organized by the Scholars Council of the region, representative of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly and Iran Cultural Center in Sierra Leone.
Over 300 religious, scientific, cultural and social figures, local officials and leaders of various tribes in Bo, Pujehun and Kenema cities attended the forum.
It was addressed by Sheikh Muhammad Sawari, eminent scholar of the region, Musa Trawliev, religious activist and lecturer, Ahmad Sharif, lecturer of Kenema University, Muhammad Niyaleh and Muhammad Reza Ghezelsofla, Iran cultural attaché in Sierra Leone.
Need for unity among Muslims of the region, the status of unity of Islamic Ummah according to the Ahl-ul-Bayt's (AS) teachings, necessity of informing Muslims about the enemies’ plots, promotion of the level of Muslims’ knowledge about barriers to Islamic unity, and approaches to reach unity as well as guidelines of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader in this respect were among the themes discussed at the program.
