This is according to former Mufti of Australia Tajeddin Hamed Al-Hilali, who also told IQNA that the Muslim world should strive to tackle the Takfiri ideology, which is the root cause of many problems in the Islamic world.
He referred to verse 13 of Suran Shura “He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad ), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim, Moses and Jesus saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion). Intolerable for the Mushrikun, is that to which you (O Muhammad ) call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience,” saying that Islam is a comprehensive religion whose teachings are for all humanity.
Al-Hilali also pointed to verse 103 of Surah Al Imran “And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah, and be not divided among yourselves,” underlining the need for Muslims to uphold unity and to hold fast to the Divine rope.
“Muslim unity is manifested everyday in daily prayers,” he stressed. “We are an Ummah that have one God, one Sacred Book, one Qibla (direction of Makkah) and unified objectives.”
Head of the Awakening Center for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, which is based in Cairo, further said the Muslim world can confront the US and the Zionist regime only through unity.
He urged the Muslim world’s thinkers and elites to confront the Takfiri ideology by drawing up a plan for intellectual unity and then make efforts for achieving social, political and economic unity.
Al-Hilali referred to the idea of diplomacy of unity mentioned by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution imam Khamenei, saying “we established the Awakening Center for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in response to the Supreme Leader’s call.”
He said the center has been set up to spread the culture of unity and proximity and that in the near future it will operate under the supervision of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
“The center benefits from the guidelines of Imam Khamenei in order to revise the culture of proximity and dialogue among Islamic schools of thought and promoting solidarity in the Muslim Ummah.”
Al-Hialali also called for convening a conference with the participation of great Muslim scholars to foil the plots hatched by the Takfiris, “whose crimes we are witnessing today in Iraq, Syria and other Islamic countries.”
He went on to say that Muslim scholars and thinkers should work out practical plans for proximity of Muslims and that they should not allow the Islamic revolutions of the region to fail as a result of enemy conspiracies.
