The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), in collaboration with the Institut des Hautes Etudes Islamiques (IHEI), will hold a meeting on “Ethics and Interculturality”, on February 8, 2013.
The program will be held at the headquarters of the French National Assembly with the participation of Three Mediterranean Cultures Foundation, the French Development Agency (AFD), and World Interfaith Harmony Week.
The meeting is aimed at exploring ways to activate the role of religious and political leaders, media, schools, NGOs, cultural institutions and the private sector in promoting civic ethics in multicultural, human societies.
Three axes will be discussed during this meeting, namely the role of interculturality in euro-Mediterranean governance, education on interculturality, and interculturality and enterprise management.
Prominent political and intellectual figures from UNESCO, Council of Europe, the French Senate, the interreligious Studies Academy, Cultures of Islam Institute, Grand Mosque of Lyon, the Catholic University of Lyon, the Arab World Institute and Le Monde, will take part in the discussion of the meeting’s axes.
ISESCO will be represented in this meeting by Dr Abdelilah Benarafa, expert in cultural diversity and policies at the Culture and Communication Directorate.
