Influence of Mauritania’s Quran Radio Discussed

The influence and activities of Mauritania’s Quran Radio were investigated at the first session of the radio's Scientific Council in 2013 on January 29 in Nouakchott, the capital city.
According to ami.mr, the session was addressed by Seyyed Aslam Walad Seyyed Al-Mustaf, Prime Ministry advisor, who underlined the important role of the radio channel in organization of Quranic competitions in the country and promotion of Quranic activities.
He also highlighted the influence of the radio in promoting religious knowledge of various groups of people, stating that the establishment of the channel reflects the status of the Holy Quran in the Mauritanian society.
Also speaking at the program, Seyyed Muhammad Al-Sheikh, Director General of Radio Mauritania, elaborated on the history of the Quran Radio and its activities during the three years since its establishment.
