The 20-minute long documentary film was also screened. The transcription and narration of the film was done by Dr. Raheijuddin Sheikh, concept and direction was given by Alhaj Sirajuddin Shaikh, while Mufti Salatur Rahman was the Chief Consultant. The film tries to link the modern scientific inventions and discoveries with the revelations made in the Quran.
Addressing the gathering, Mufti Salatur Rahman said, “Quran, the Holy Book of Islam, has several miraculous aspects which demonstrate that it is sent by the Allah. There are numerous scientific facts in this book which our scientists have only been able to discover and confirm today. These are shown in this documentary film that our centre is releasing today. It is based on the celebrated Turkish writer Harun Yahya’s work Miracles of the Quran. His work has shown that many of the discoveries made by modern scientist, whether in astronomy, earth science or physics are already mentioned in the Quran. In fact, the Quran was revealed as a complete guide for all mankind. We hope that such an attempt would help in understanding and appreciating Quran much better by the Muslims as well as by the non-Muslims. Today we are releasing the first volume. IRDC will be coming up with more volumes in this series.”
IRDC released the DVD as a part of its research and Da’wah activities. Instituted in October 2008, the centre promotes Islamic Da’wah, the proper presentation, understanding and appreciation of Islam, as well as removing misconceptions about Islam amongst less aware Muslims and non-Muslims.
