The 3rd International Conference of Hollywoodism and Cinema opened in Tehran on Sunday, February 3.

Mr. Montazami in an address highlighted the significance of the conference and said its third edition is held internationally with the participation of foreign filmmakers and researchers.
He said Hollywood plays an important role in introducing concepts in the field of cinema and that the conference aims to learn about different aspects of Hollywood’s influence and talk about how to get equipped to confront it.
Shamaghdari in his speech said Hollywood is a phenomenon with a 90-year history that has managed to impose its views on the whole world using teh medium of cinema.
He said while the overwhelming majority of the world people are followers of either Christianity or Islam, Hollywood and its influence on filmmakers have undermined the effect of Divine prophet’s messages.
While the messengers of God have come to show the right path to human beings and lead them to perfection and salvation, Hollywood suppresses the Fitrat (nature) and has made Satan the axis of everything, Shamaghdari added.
Next one to take the podium was the Minister of Culture who called on artists to use the medium of cinema to expose the enemies’ ploys and follow the example of the Islamic Revolution to awaken nations.
The international conference, which will run until Wednesday, February 6, aims to review Hollywood’s conduct in producing Iranophobic and Islamopbobic movies.
Bases of Hollywood economy, Hollywood and human values, and Iranophobic productions of Hollywood are among the themes of the event.
